I just installed a set of alpine type-R 6.5" components running from an alpine amp. The problem is my woofers aren't working, the tweeters are working fine so I'm getting power to the crossovers but for some reason the woofers aren't working, and this is the same on both sides. Any ideas?
thats what I'm leaning toward haha and what do you mean by "what are you interfacing to?" as for details, I have a four channel alpine amp and a JVC headunit. So you think it must be wired wrong since my tweeters are working and the woofers are not?

test the woofers by bypassing the x-over and see if they play at all. That will tell you if it's the x-over or the speakers.
Maybe post some close up pics of the x-over connections or even a link to the owners manual. Probably model number too, we can look for a manual with that.
ya funny thing is the speakers didnt come with any instructions or a manual by the way they are the new style of alpine type-R 6.5" components. I will check the wiring and call the stereo shop where I bought them too

just looked at alpine's website. no switches for the woofer, so you all is set righ on the amp (x-over not set to 4k or something redicolous like that) then you either have two bad x-overs or two bad woofers, or one of each
let us know what happens when you bypass the x-over and hook up the woofers directly to the amp.
Could be returned merchandise with blown woofers or crossovers.
You can check the woofer by connecting a small battery (AA) across the woofer leads and see if it makes noise or disconnect the crossover and connect your amplifier right to the woofer and see if it makes with the sound.

Sometimes crossovers are the instructions. Havent seen a set yet that isnt self explanatory. But at the least, there should be a warranty/disclaimer sheet.
