I'm going to upgrade my sound system from my broken tape deck to a cd changer. What should I go for? Should I go for an FM modulated cd changer and use my old radio for the time being or should I save for a dedicated cd changer to work with a new radio?
And how hard are FM modulated changers to install? It'll come with free installation, but I don't want some guy that's being paid min wage to be mucking around with my electrical system. Do I have to run it to the battery and then to the antenna?
What about the custom autosound that ecklers and mid amer sell? Is it any good?
'75 coupe, don't have to worry about cutting bezel cause it's already cut :cry
Re: Need help deciding: FM mod or dedicated? (Jeffvette)
You want a dedicated deck and changer. Try the Pioneer 4300 CD player and CDXP1270 changer. http://www.mmxpress.com has them for about $200 each. They will sound much better than the overpriced stuff in the catelogs. Also, replace your speakers and speaker wire. The stuff you have will probably be all dryrotted by now.
Luck
