Yes. Your system does not have ESP or something similar. ESP is electronic skip protection. It records 3-5 seconds of music ahead of time, and if it senses a skip, it goes back and fills in the blanks so your music doesn't skip. This is used widely in current CDs and CD walkmen. Also, what tires are you running? If you still have the original GY GSC crappy tires, they have to be as hard as granite by now. Get new tires for the sake of the rest of the car and safety reasons. It will feel like you are riding on pillows at first and dramatically cut down on skipping. :cheers:

You might want to check and make sure it has all the screws holding it in. When we first got ours it skipped a lot going over railroad tracks. When I took it out to fix something else I found that NONE of the mounting screws that are suppose to hold it in place were there! :mad
