Im asking since i want to change the head unit but keep the current speaker setup for a little bit.

All C6 systems use an outboard amp which is mounted in the passenger footwell by the fuse box. If you don't have Onstar or don't care about using it, grab a Peripheral GMCO module and plug it's RCA's into your new head until and you'll be good to go. If you do have Onstar and want to retain it then instead of the GMCO use their GMAH24 and GMAHCM modules (both required for Onstar-compatible installs).

its a very easy harness to use and you should have no issues wiring it up. if you are goin navi let me know and i can tell you where to get the vss wire
also im 99% sure the dimmer wire in the GMCO harness wont work so run the dimmer wire from ur radio if you are hooking it up to either the traction control harness or the hazard switch, i can get you wire color if need be
also FYI if you are trying to test the illumination functions before you button the dash up the hazard button and traction control button and a few others do not lite up unless hvac is plugged in

im looking to install a kenwood DD head unit with nav.
kenwoods dont have a speed sense wire since they do it all from gps antenna so you are safe there. you dont need to hook up the reverse wire since you dont have a back up cam. Make sure you ground the parking break wire so you have full access at all times to all menus and navi functions (and so you can play movies lol)
basically just match up the red yellow and black wires, make sure to look in your manual to see which is the remote wire and hook that to the blue wire on the gmco. on gmco its called power antenna or amp turn on i dont remeber which one, regardless you want to make sure you connect it to amp turn on on your kenwood unit. If you hook it to the power antenna wire on the kenwood unit you will have issues with the factory amp turning off when it shouldnt.
