I had a 2008 Coupe with the 3LZ audio system. I traded the car for a 08 Z with 2LT Nav system. The Coupe system rocked. At least compared to the one in my Z. Can anyone tell me why the vast difference in sound from the two systems Anything that can be done to make the Z sound as good as my coupe using the factory nav system? I'm not looking for bumping bass, all I would like is the nav system to sound as good as the non nav system in the 2008
I did do a search and came up with very little information.

The biggest single thing I see repeated is that the NAV system has lower overall gain. Someone was talking a week or two ago about putting a line amplifier in and that might help, but I haven't heard anything since then. Unfortunately since you're dealing with a weakness is the hardware of the system that would be about the only simple thing you could do, after that it would be time to start changing out speakers at the very least. I run an aftermarket amp and speakers with my factory NAV and the difference is dramatic.
Thank you for the reply. Any suggestions on what amp to get? I would prefer one that is small in size, not too expensive and as light as possible.
Are the speakers different in cars with the Nav and those without?

The smallest package you're gonna get is the Alpine PDX series. I have a 4.150 and it packs a nice punch for it's form factor. Can be had for around $450-500 if you don't mind gray market.
There are only 2 sets of speakers that get installed, either Delco or Bose. They are exactly the same regardless of the head unit. The difference seems to be the NAV itself.
