C5 looking for an Audiophile for help!
Hey all! I have a C5...
I'm looking for an awesome Touchscreen In-Dash unit (that does not flip open and is not motorized...the touchscreen face is facing me at all times.) Need some suggestions! (GPS too!)
The Fleabay has a BUNCH if you search "In Dash Touchscreen GPS". Any suggestions on there too? Gonna look to make the sound loud...maybe get a 5 channel amp too...
I'm pretty ignorant about this kinda stuff, any help is good help!
(Are there any specifics that I should look for as far as sound goes, "Double DIN" etc?)

You should check out the Pioneer Line. The Z3 or the F series. You will have to get a modded bezel to fit a double din Head Unit. Check out the sticky in this audio section. The C5 FAQs sticky. It will help you a lot if you want to upgrade your sound system

Hmm..Pioneer and Kenwood are both expensive, i'm not looking to break the bank. I went and looked at that link, but unfortunately it doesn't help too much, it's pretty much for DIY'ers.

you wont get a reliable gps unit for under $700. Also, there isn't any information about the brightness of the screen. I wouldn't trust it personally. Save your money and pick up something that has the features you want and wont break the bank.

Dude, I'd stay far away from that ebay thing. Never heard of it, the description text is poorly translated, and it's coming from Hong Kong -- meaning it's going to be expensive to ship, and if you have any trouble with it, (and you even CAN send it back) it's going to take lots of time and $$$ to ship. Remember, you get what you pay for. And I sure wouldn't want to see you being the guinea pig for that thing.

I agree with the warning about buying from Hong Kong, but I have to say this other single din unit from the same vendor with nav, usb and sd slot looks cool
