Soundstream Car Audio..Need Your Help/Opinions????
Hey everyone,
I was approached by the VP of Soundstream at a show a few weeks ago to carry their line of car audio. Only problem is they want a buy in on it. So my question to you is, is there enough interest here to carry this line of car audio and whats your opinion on the new stuff from Soundstream? From messing around with it at the show, seems like they offer alot of features and the picture quality was excellent for the price of the in-dash units.
If I get a good response, I'll post a sale up on here to get enough orders for the buy in.
Here is there new product line and how much they will be selling for:
VIR-7100N Full Navigation/DVD/CD/MP3 DD Unit - $870
VIR-4100N 1 Din 4.3" Full Navigation/DVD/CD/AM/FM - $700
VIR-8011N 1 Din 8" Screen DVD/AM/FM/TV Tuner - $460
VIR-5000 5.3" Touch Screen 1 Din DVD/CD/AM/FM/TV Tuner - $350
VIR-8006 Razor 1 Din Full DVD/CD/AM/FM/TV Tuner - $300
Tarantula TRX2.820 250x2 RMS 820W Mono - $320
Reference R1 Series Subwoofer 12" 800rms/1200max - $390
Reference Series Subwoofer 12" 600rms dual 4 ohm - $160
Reference Series Components 6.5" Mid Driver 1.5" Tweed - $250
Capcell SCELL-600 16 volts, digital read out - $280
X-ITE MP4 Player MP28-T2G 2 gig - $150 & 4 gig - $170
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated, thanks

i wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot pole, i have learned the hardway not to sell and install navi/headunit gear thats not from a major manufacturer, as for hte rest of their line up, soundstream is a meer shadow of what it was, and i really wouldnt want to be associated wtih it...but i guess everthing depends on your demographic intersm of customers base

from what I could tell from the show, they seem to be top notch but like the other guys said..I'm curious to how good soundstream is as a company now that they are owned by someone else..thanks for everyones input..keep it coming

Soundstream use to be very nice stuff. But, the whole car audio industry has changed and things aren't what they use to be. Most companies have been bought and sold and their product quality has diminished. I would look at the specs of the amps and test them out myself before I bought in. If the THD isn't less than 0.0X, and a signal to noise over 100, I wouldn't buy it. It's a shame to look at what's happened to Phoenix Gold, Fosgate, Orion and PPI. I don't usually buy Nav's so I can't help you there. The subs would be easy to audition and I imagine the price point would determine everything.

No personal experience, just the rather poor word-of-mouth of recent products. Those pics make it look like they're using Google Maps, which is my personal PC map preference. That could be a selling point, but until you actually use one it's hard to say.
If you can get your paws on a demo unit you might find a volunteer to try one of 'em out....
