Need Help with External CB Speaker
Our club uses CB on road trips, my unit is a Cobra 75 that has all the controls and speaker in the microphone. To get more speaker volume, I purchased a Cobra S500 external speaker. Problem is, the speaker has two wires that both end with an identical connector. One wire is red and is a single conductor, the other is black and looks like a double conductor. Because they have identical connectors, either one can be plugged into the junction box of the radio, but not both at once. Of course, there are no instructions to explain which one to use.
I can call Cobra on Monday, but time is getting short and I'd like to get this one set up ASAP.

Just try them both. That speaker has a talkback input which allows you to hear your voice through the speaker as you transmit. One cable is for that feature. The other is for a standard external speaker. Just use the one that works.
