Kenwood 8120 - blinking light when off?

Kenwood 8120 - blinking light when off?
OK, so I'm being lazy here and asking instead of eventually digging out the answer myself....
I installed the 8120 Saturday and have had extremely limited time to mess with it since. But I noticed that when the car is off there triangular red "status" light on the face blinks. It smacks of a "security" feature or something, but I can't find anything in the manual about it and to my mind all it does is scream "there's a fancy stereo in here!!!"
Anybody know anything about it, like how to turn it off??

I figured it out, it's the security. It is on by default, even if you don't set a code. If you set a code it must be entered any time the unit loses power. If you turn that off the blink goes away.
