Default C6 Audio System CD Questions

I have a 2008 with the Nav system and single disk CD and stereo. I have been trying to make CDs that will work flawlessly and I am not having any luck.
I have used Windows Media Player, iTunes, and lately CD burner XP. Last night I made a CD with 60 songs a 4 sub folders with 15 songs each.
The player in the vette will sometimes read all the songs but not play them (even if I use the buttons and look at the list of all songs and “push the button” for a specific song”)
Sometimes songs will be skipped and not show up. (In one folder there were 12 songs)
The bad part is I also have a 2009 Hyundai and it will take the same disc and play it completely and without error. No skipped songs, navigating to specific songs and folders, etc.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.

Don't feel alone. I've got the nav/single player in my C6Zcar (4,000miles +-) and I just learned a couple of months ago from my daughter how to burn mp3s onto a standard cd disc in the itunes program format and get 50 to 60 songs per disc. I've always burned cds but just using standard WMA files only getting 10-16 songs per cd. I'm a little behind on methodolgy but this was a great discovery. The bad part was similar to your issue above the tunes either didn't show up on the Zcar player, didn't play what's included in the individual files or on the screen, some songs showed up but wouldn't play and the player even started sticking on a single song playing over and over again. The only way i could get it off single song was to leave it random play.

I didn't have any problems playing standard WMA file burned cds and I gave up on trying to figure out why the player wouldn't read the itunes' program mp3 burner. I don't have the manual in front of me but it states somewhere that the player will only read mp3s in certain file type formats. I never could quit figure out why.

In the past couple of weeks the cd reader/player starting skipping randomly on some of my older burned cds and I just thought it was because they were old and had a few scratches. But now it's skipping in random areas on all of my cds whether they're burned/or pre-recorded. The only cd it reads without any issues is if it's a fairly new disc. without any sign of ware. That's not right.

I've been testing all of my discs out on other players and found everything that skips on the Zcar plays fine. My 98 pontiac, my son's 2000 saturn, my daughter's 2002 mitsubishi, my wife's 2002 lexus and all the home computer/hifi equipment.

I was going to take it in to the dealership this sometime this week and see if i couldn't get a new unit switched out. Thought i'd check the forum to see if others have had any issues. I haven't checked any other threads to see if this is a typical problem (hope not).

Let me know if you make any progress on your issue.

I found that certain CD brands simply don't do well in the C6. The brand I found to work is Maxell, and I would also use a BIG marker to write info, that caused a problem, so I now write in small letters around the center and that solved it for me.
