Default Help with C5 speakers and sub combo

Hello,

I have a 2000 C5 hardtop and I made the following modifications...

Pioneer D1 double din unit/console
PAC interface allowing the use of the factory BOSE speakers
Nakamichi 2 Ch. amp powering a 10in. Nakamich sub.

Now for the issue.....

The door speakers sound muffled and "not right." The bass is great; however, everything else sucks....

I know the best solution is to add another amp and put components in my doors; however, I was wondering if there is another solution?

Perhaps I can get rid of the PAC and run 2-way speakers in the doors and run it off of the head unit?

Anyone have experience doing such a thing?

Thanks in advance

the only thing the pac adapter is doing is running ur bose subs in the doors the twiddlers are powered straight from the radio, id check some radio settings see if the bass boost or something is on, otherwise i woudl rip the bose stuff out of the door and put a 6.5 coaxial in the door and power from radio or ideally 6.5 components set and amp it

Same thing happened to me, fronts sound very soft, not clear, tried many different settings, do you recommend any particular speakers?

IMO you really need to do an amp and components, otherwise a set of 6.5 coaxials off the deck would work as well but IMO it may not get loud enough for you

polk db651 gets my vote for a cheap coax that works well
