So I ordered a new system. I plan on installing it this winter but I want to remove the stock system now to drop some weight for the fall racing season. I can get the center console out in a minute but I no nothing about pulling the head unit, door panels and speakers, rear speakers, and 12 disk changer. Any write ups out there to help me along?
ok so the head unit will be no problem. i just read up on pulling the door panels and that seems like cake. i have a coupe so the rears should be easy? i will check out the c5 facts thread on removing the rear stuff. thanks.
the interior panels for rear speakers on the vert coupe and z06/frc are totally different. the z06/frc is the only one u have to remove all the panels, trust me i have done stereos in well over 50 different vettes

Manufacturer Chevrolet
Parent company General Motors
Also called Z06
Production 2001–2004
Assembly Bowling Green, Kentucky
Predecessor C4 ZR-1
Successor C6 Z06
Body style(s) 2-door hardtop coupé
"Starting with the most structurally rigid body style offered, the hardtop or "fixed roof coupé" (FRC)"
I would like to see the references to C5 coupe rear speaker replacement exempt the Z06 as there are a few people who have posted about being misled by information in the FAQ's.
One guy I remember posted that he destroyed a panel trying to "just pull the grill off".
