Has anyone made a fiberglass box that would fit the little cubby hole bins in the trunk on each side of the C5? I have seen a picture of an install that had small woofers floor mounted but I am curious if anyone has seen one built up the side of the trunk and angled so the cone either faces in towards the cabin perpendicular to the floor or faces the other side of the trunk?
They say each box was .35cF which is not nearly enough, but in my head I was picturing something that would extend up to the back of a partition and the woofer a lot more vertical which would give more internal volume than the horizontal mounting in the pictures.
prly gonna have to go custom, those are pics of DPGs car I set him up with elemental designs to have those boxes made which are actually a good size for an 8" sub
Let me know if you find someone who makes something along these lines. Looking for some type of small sub enclosure myself that's out of the way and doesn't take up the center compartment.

Ever find anything that might work? I emailed Elemental Designs and they told me they don't make the ones in those pics anymore unfortunately.
this spring/summer me and DPG are going to try to make a few pairs. Glassing them in honestly isnt that hard if u take the time and have decent warm garage

Really no experience with fiberglass here. If you don't mind, would appreciate if you could let me know how that progresses and maybe I could buy a set from you if you get some extras made. What speaker are you using? The ED 7Kv.2 http://www.edesignaudio.com:80/produ...products_id=33 ?
Glassing wont be happening till spring/summer its too cold out here in chicago to do anyglassing and too hard to keep the garage heated warm enough with cars coming in and out
I would do em with 8's
IMO if doing it for a 6.5" sub like a 7kv or any other 6.5" driver you could do it pretty easily as you prly wouldnt have to build it up
I know when c6 first came out guys were laying down sounddeadner then taking a board and cutting it to cover the opening and using deander/some non hardening caulk to seal it the best they could against the trunk opening putting a few screws in to hold it down and putting either an 8 or 6.5 sub in there and decent results were had

Thanks...might have to give something along those lines a try. Not really looking for that booming bass, just a little extra oomph compared to what I have now with out taking up too much space.
i would say 2 6" subs in each cubby would work well, i would think about pullin the carpet out of cubbies or cutting it out, deaden it decently like 2 layers and maybe some non hardening caulk around edge and screw a baffle in with like 4 screws, could prly make it 100% reversiable at a later time
i wish i could say i had progressed, now with my new job my own car stereo project is on standby and im pretty sure dave is swamped but shoot him a PM his username is DPG he may be of help but not sure.

Any reason ur against using the center cubby
The center cubby has the AIS methanol kit. I had purchased the 8" from elemental design already.
Congrats on the job.
No room at all on the center as the AIS methanol kit takes up the whole space.
Why didn't you use the wiper fluid tank which has a low fluid sensor built in?? It's not like vette owners ever drive in bad weather...especially with over 500rwhp...

Because the trunk mounted one holds up to 1.5 gallons and I need it having a 3 nozzle methanol setup.
