Default C6 wiring question (amps)

Installing an amp in the rear cubby on my C6. Just trying to figure out the following:
1. How long do I need my patch cables to be?
2. What is the best way to route them back there? I'm assuming door sills, but I don't know for sure.
3. Any tips on wiring for power (Alpine PDX4.100)? How about grounding?
4. Speaker wiring from the amp to the front speakers... tips? What gauge do you recommend, and where/how to route it?

I want everything as invisible as possible. Thanks!

I don't seem to find any of the topics listed there pointing me in the direction(s) I need. Care to elaborate?

Thanks.

1. depends which side but would guess its around 10 feet depending on what your running your RCA's low levels to
2.under the door sill is the easiest spot,,,,,
3. i ran the power to the main post going into the main fuse box under the hood, ground can be run to the trunk lid closer thingy (there is a decent ground there) or elsewhere
4. dont understand what your doing there?
Alot of good info i used in the FAQ's if you look around a bit. so much stuff I know it takes ome time to figure out but its probably there. good luck ,paul

1. The standard 12' should be fine

2. Don't run them down the door sills because that is likely where you will run the power wire for the amp - RCA's & power wires don't mix, you get noise. Run the RCA's down the center console and under the carpet through the hatch.

3. Run the power wire straight to the battery and install an ANL fuse or circuit breaker under the hood.

4. I typically run 12g speaker wire, no specific brand. That you can run up the sides and under the sills, speaker wire & power wire co-exist peacefully.

Great, thanks for the answers!

That FAQ can be very helpful, but also very frustrating when you're trying to find something specific, and have to wade through a gazillion posts before you accidentally stumble upon it in something that was originally completely unrelated.

I have an amp on order, and it's coming with RCAs, which is why I wanted to know what length to specify. Is there any harm in going with 15' vs 12' just to be safe, or is that unnecessary? Thanks again.

No harm in adding the extra 3', might give you a little more flexibility in routing.

I think I might do that. It's easier to tuck some away than it is to come up short
