Car Alarm with C4 problem
Yesterday I had my remote start/alarm installed in my 1995 C4. The problem that the installer came across and was not able to fix is the ability to have passive arming. So the car has the alarm installed but without the passive arming feature enabled. I like having this feature and would like to have it on this car.
The installer told me that the problem stems from the door light switches. I don't know if my switches are bad, they work when I open my doors or if there is another possible problem.When he had the passive feature on it would kill my interior lights after shutting the door then the lights would work again after putting the key in the ignition. Example: I drive the car, stop get out, interior lights come on like normal. I let the passive arming kick in, go to open the doors again and the lights do not come on until I put the key in the ignition and turn it.
The system that was installed is an Avital 5103. If anyone has any solutions that would be greatly appreciated, I prefer having the passive arming feature enabled. I have it on my other vehicles and prefer the piece of mind. TIA.
