I've heard nothing but good things about them, my sterio guy carries em, he wants me to put em mine, sorry but I havent had the opportunity to hear them, Chris
Nobody sells them in my area. So unfortunately I have to take peoples word that they're a good speaker.
Kale, would you rate these higher than the Kappa Perfects?
Yes, very much so. But, I don't like the Kappas at all anyway.
But... buying a speaker you have never heard can have bad results.
If you ask me, the old Focal Utopias are about the best thing I've ever heard. If you ask another person, they might not like them at all. (or if you asked me before I knew that install locations and method meant as much if not more than speaker choice.)
They are a solid quality component set, falling about midway between a middle of the road Focal set and an Infinity Perfect set in terms of "brightness".
Decent midrange although not as good as a Kevlar Focal, but better than Infinity would be. Brighter set than a Polk Momo is IMO, but probably not quite as smooth.
I would not ask them to do much in the way of playing below 80hz either from what I have heard.
