Default Need advice on new AMP

I just installed a new head unit, (Kenwood KDC-X492) A new amp, (Power Bass ASA 300.2) and new speakers, (Polk DB651, 6 1/2" coxial)
At this time I am only using the two new speakers. My question is; 1. On the amp there is a three-position switch labled X-Over, what position is this switch supposed to, (or should) be in?

2. There are two adjustments labled, "HPF" and "LPF"....... What are they for and how do I adjust them? Do I even want to adjust them?

I have pretty much figured out the Gain and Bass adjustments, but these other ones went by me like I had it 3 speeds in reverse!

This is the very first time I have ever installed a sound system, so i'm not familar at all with what this stuff is.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

HPF & LPF are high pass and low pass filters. They are to use when you have a subwoofer in the mix. Assuming you were running front speakers and a sub you'd set a high pass filter on the front speakers so that frequencies only above a certain point (typically around 80Hz) get "passed" to them and then you set the low pass on the rear so only frequencies below the setting are sent to the subwoofer. Having a sub attempt to play high frequencies results in poor performance and vice-versa on the fronts.

Since you are only running fronts passing full range (not setting the filters) will work fine. But as those speakers probably won't play much below 60Hz or so you could set the front to HPF at 60 to see if things sound a little better.
