High Tech to the max. I still have not figured out the factory radio/CD/remote CD in my ride. I'm amazed at the things that can be done to the C5.

Do you think the HVAC mounting bracket holes could be moved down slightly to lower the unit, which would unshroud the top of the controls from behind the bezel? I wouldn't mind if the lower buttons were a little closer to the bottom (which would center the unit a little more). -Hope that makes sense.

Thanks.

Hey Rick
Some are not having any issues with the controls linging up at all. I would assume that maybe the controls were off slightly form factory.
The mounting bracket under the HVAC controls can always be removed as well giving you plenty of adjustment room. Installing a bezel with no ash tray you have toremove the support bracket for the HVAC controls anyway so I know this can be done.

Good questions too

Send me your email address and I can forward you some more info

that's scary, so some have this problem and others don't, weird

Glad I found this post. I have been bugging Dennis all day with installation questions but this thread pretty much clears it up.

Thanks Guys!

Default Mic Location Question

Greg you make it look soooo easy!

I am debating on location for the mic in my 04 Vert. I see you placed in upper corner of the pillar and it looked like that was a Vert. In addition to that location I am also considering just below the gauges on the steering column so it would be in line with me speaking. I rarely drive with the top up and I'm wondering if the pillar location would get more wind noise.

You have done many, do you have an opinion on both mic locations?

How does the pillar come off? Anything else to deal with once the pillar is free?

Thanks

I have ALWAYS done the piller but you are right it may work better where u have suggested for ur situation. Regardless I wouldnt plan on it working well top down, just too much noice. Also the pillar literally just pulls off

So all the way in back, not accessible from the dash area or passenger kick panel?

I don't believe it is accessible from the dash. I connected at the reverse light + wire as Greg suggests.

From looking at the schematics, it appears to go directly from the underhood fuse box to the back of the car

If you want to splice into the fuse box wires, it's the light green wire at pin E9 of the light gray C3 plug.
