Gary got in contact with me after he ordered up a bezel that retained his ashtray and some brackets from Dennis (c5bearsfan). He went with a kenwood dnx5120 dbl din, with the bluetooth, ipod adapter, and a kenwood backup cam.
As always the dnx5120 comes through and performs flawlessly.
OEM bracket cut out to accompodate dbl din, sawzall makes quick work
A shot of the wiring harness, and the infamous accessory wires located in the passenger kickpanel needed for adding an aftermarket radio
its just a kenwood there is a bracket and u screw it in to the top, i wish i had a better pic. the only framed cameras i have done like that u posted are BOYOs
Do you have an opinion on the Boyo, I am considering one, VTL200. I hear it takes a long time for the picture to boot up when switching to BU camera, do you know what the time is?
Thanks for the link to the install, very nice. Wish I was closer to you!

awesome write up 2 q's, the accesory wires, did you use them all or just the one for the 12v?? also i see u didnt flip the radio support over to use as support, Is it not needed with denis's brackets??
Looks great!!! Where did you get the Double Din Bezel? Also the back up cam?
I have a portable GPS (parents gave it to me for xmas, so i can't sell, haha) Which one would you recommend in that case? About 1/2 the price without the GPS in them, right??
ill try to address everything here, boyo makes great cameras the time for it to come up on screen is based on the radio kenwood it comes up almost instantly, its the pioneers u have to wait
i never keep the factory bracket anymore IMO its not needed, and when u retain the ashtray there is no room for bracket the radio is literally on top of the hvac controls
i only used the ignition wire out of the accessory wires in kickpanel the rest come from the gm radio harness
i have mounted prly close to 50 antennas like that in all different cars never a single issue
The climate control doesn't look right, whats going on with the top of it? Looks like it's covered or am I seeing things.
There is simply not enough room to do this with choice in bezels that retain the ash tray. Being off a lsight bit is something you might have. If this is not wanted you can always go with a bezel with no ash tray.

Got it from me.
I think i responded to your other question in the light oak thread.
Do you have any pictures showing the HU and the HVAC controls mounted without the bezel in place? Does the HVAC mount get moved at all or does it stay in the stock location?
I bought the same bezel from Dennis and want to get as much info. myself ahead of time as I'm sure the local stereo shop has not done this before.
Do you think the HVAC mounting bracket holes could be moved down slightly to lower the unit, which would unshroud the top of the controls from behind the bezel? I wouldn't mind if the lower buttons were a little closer to the bottom (which would center the unit a little more). -Hope that makes sense.
Thanks.
