So in short there is 0 bass in my car, which completely ruins my hour commute to work. I can go with the assumption that I blew a speaker since every now and then the bass will "kick in" with the most horrible distorted sound imaginable. I'm not looking to put a crazy system in, just something for a relatively cheap price. Should I just put new stock speakers back in? And most importantly what's the damage going to look like from a financial aspect? I truly appreciate all help, thanks.
I think it's a little strange that ALL your woofers would blow at the same time. When the bass kicks in, can you tell if it's from a specific speaker or from all of them? I'm inclined to think the speakers are fine and there's a short (possibly in the head unit to the woofers)

There is no bass(from any speaker) when I'm playing music, then at times it will kick in with a distorted sound for maybe 2-3 seconds (this has only happened a very select number of times), then back to nothing. It could be a short, but how do I go about fixing the problem? If there's one thing I really need to further educate myself on it's car audio, any kind of mechanical problem I'd be able to diagnose and fix myself, but electrical issues seem to be my weakness.
