Bose fading out.
Yesterday driving in to work, about 5 mins into the trip the radio faded out. It's like the I lost all the mids and highs in the signal from all the speakers, tried playing with the balance/fade and it is def all speakers. Same thing when I switched to CD. Turned it off and back on and the same thing. I tried resetting all the eq stuff but nothing changed.
On the way home from work the radio/cd worked great when I first cranked up but after about 5 mins it did the same exact thing. Is it possible that I have a fuse or relay going bad? I fear that I am in for a new headunit but wanted to check for a simple fix before going that route. Thanks in advance!
Any ideas, thanks in advance.

I have two Vettes, a 91 and a 93, and both of them had Bose units that gave me nothing but headaches similar to the one you're having. After reading numerous posts here, I finally caved and bellied up to the bar...replaced both of them with Kenwood units and have absolutely no regrets. The Kenwood even comes with a USB plug-in so I could play my favorite tunes from my IPod.
I think you will find that trashing the Bose and installing a unit of your choice will be the best move you can make, so long as you don't mind departing from "factory" equipment. Buyers seem to find an audio upgrade "desirable".
