HUD integration is gone, you prob won't miss it.

Since you don't have OnStar, I'd get an interface adapter that uses the HU RCA outputs. I believe the RP4-GM11 is the current all-in-one adapter, or you can use C2R-GM24 and a SWI-RC.

In addition to the interface adapter, you'll need the mounting adapter (95-3304) and an antenna adapter (40-GM10). If you get alternator whine (seems to be 50/50) a pair of GLI's LIKE THESE will fix it.

Hi Mark,

thanks for your reply.
The product site @ PAC shows an antenna adapter with the Pac RP5-GM11. Is that adapter not included in the package or is another antenna adapter needed?

Thanks

Lars

You only need one antenna adapter, if it comes in a kit that works.

OK thanks.

Will reach out to PAC if the antenna adapter is included in the RP5-GM11 and will keep the community informed about the answer.

Thanks

Lars

The RP5 should work, but if you don't have OnStar I believe the RP4 would be a better option

Hi there,

got today the confirmation from PAC that the PAC RP5-GM11 kits includes an antenna adapter in the package.

No extra antenna adapter has to be purchased if the PAC RP5-GM11 in included in your installation plans.

Cheers

Lars

Not sure if you still check this thread, but if you do...

With Bose, Onstar(not wanted), and Nav (replacing), would Metra 95-3304, Metra 40-GM10 GM Antenna Adapter, Ground Loop Isolator, and PAC C2R-GM24 GM Chime and Data-Bus Integration Interface cover everything?

2005 LT3.

If all you're doing is replacing the radio, then your list is exactly what I would use

For the GLI, you need 2 of them (one for fronts and one for rear).

Thanks

In my experience the need for GLI's is about 2 out of 3 installs when mixing stock and aftermarket components. The 1 lucky install will be perfect without them. The 2 that need them will have alternator whine that can be anywhere from barely noticeable to completely unbearable. The GLI's almost always fix the issues, so I've just started installing them every time.

Front left & right are #1 GLI. If you need the GLI and you want to connect the rear speakers, then you'll need #2. Each GLI is 2 channels.

Here is a basic question. I want to replace my factory nav with an aftermarket unit. I have the factory XM but all the aftermarket units want you to buy another XM unit. Is there no way to connect the factory XM unit to aftermarket stereos?

You need to buy a new Sirius/xm tuner. You can't re-use the factory one. You can re-use the factory antenna if you buy a 10ft antenna extension.

However the stock C6 uses "dual" antennas. One is the "Satellite" the other is the "Repeater" antenna. Yes they are aimed different and slightly different. There are Y cables to "merge" the two together, and on my C6 until I did that I got a LOT of XM dropouts.

Default Bonkers with all this info?

I have been gifted new Pioneer MVH-AV290BT. My present radio in 2006 3LT is a no NAV Bose unit and no OnStar.. I have been researching all the various interfaces and it IS confusing for me. I do not have steering wheel controls but I want to retain all the bells and whistles in the car. I need some direction as to which wiring interface to get before I start the install. I will install a backup camera, but that is a direct hookup to the HU.

The PAC Audio RP5-GM11 is your best bet. About $95 on Amazon.

Here is all the stuff I bought for my install.

1- Pac Audio RP5-GM11 wiring harness with steering wheel controls
2- Metra 95-3304 double din face plate
3- Sirius XM SXV300v1 tuner (optional if you want Sirius XM) and Sirius XM 10ft antenna ext. cable (if u want to re-use factory antenna)
4- Pyle PCNM38FRV back up camera (was only $17 but works great)
5- A pack of crimp style cap connectors 22/18 gauge and a crimp plier (since I didn't have one)
