I know this isnt the best set-up but its what i have to work with so I am looking for some advice. I am using a powered Baselink sub and I have it slightly set into the compartment behind the passenger seat. With the carpet it is pretty much sealed al the way around. That compartment is just thin fiberglass and it vibrates like crazy and sounds crappy. I was thinking about using Great stuff (expandable foam in a can) and applying it to the inside and bottom walls of the compartment to deaden the vibration. And then using a 2 inch PVC pipe and using it as a tube from inside the box through to behind the passanger seat. I will have to cut a hole in the compartment and also through to behind the seat, seal with silicone and make it look good behind the seat but will this work to improve the sound or not??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
The sound from the Basslink will change since it is installed in an enclosure with a port tube that isn't tuned for that application. Also, the expanding foam will probably make a mess of things and not help the vibration problem.
I would just mount the Basslink in the cargo area where it will sound a lot better and not vibrate anything.
Cutting holes in your Vette and using expanding foam will only make the problems and your Vettes interior look worse.

Don't go cutting holes in your car. Read the C4 sticky to get some ideas on how to add bass to your car.
Well I didnt get much responce and went ahead with the idea. It worked out great, the bass is much harder hitting and deeper and you cant see the hole because the carpet covers it. I would recomed this option to anyone, it was very easy and the results are what I've been trying to achieve for a year now.

I'll get some tonight, there isnt much to see. The carpet covers the hole and the baselink is covered with an enclosure I made. The compartment wall is the same as behind the seat so all I had to do was cut the hole and apply the foam. If this was'nt a powered sub and run of an amp the sub speaker would fit with very little sticking into the cargo area. I've been trying to get the sound I wanted for over a year now and this has done the trick. I have 2 Infinity 5 1/2 rounds in the doors and 2 6x9's in the rear with the baselink and a MTX 6304 running the speakers.
