I have an 05 coupe and was wondering has anyone installed the Sirus SIR-GM1 directly to the head unit. My car has the Bose with nav and I have looked for the wires that would have been used if the car had come with XM. Any ideas my wife bought it for me for Christmas and this is the first time I have had the time for an install. Thanks ahead of time.

I had one in my 08 but my car came with XM installed. I have no idea whether GM used the same harness but my gut says they probably did. Check behind the carpet above the driver side rear wheel for the open connector. If it is there that is where you will plug the SIR-GM1 in. That is where the factory XM module is installed in coupes. You'll also need to run the antenna of course. If GM had a seperate harness for XM vs. Non XM I think using the SIR-GM1 is going to be nearly impossible.

I found it. Installed and activated. Wire was above rear fender but looked like it was part of another cable. It was taped to it but now it's hooked up and going. thanks for the help

Just an FYI for future reference. No tech II needed, the head unit automatically recognizes the tuner presence.
