I'm going to add an amp and sub to my c5. I really like what I'm reading about JL, so i think my mind is made up on that. My picks are the 10" 10w3v3 but not sure whether 2 or 4 ohm. My amp pic is the 500/1. So do they make different variations of this amp? If so what are the exact model numbers I need to match that sub? Also fleabay has both these at buy it now prices way lower then crutchfield, so is that to good to be true? thanks in advance

i've gotten my stereo components from "gray area" sellers from ebay and whatnot and have had great luck.

saved quite a bit over retail prices.

The 500/1 may be a little overboard for the 10w3. I'm using one with my 12w6v2 and it's plenty powerful.

btw, bought both my 12w6 and 500/1 from ebay. Paid less than 1/2 retail on both cause I'm just that good.

If you're not using a stealthbox, I'd strongly reccomend one of JL's Subwoofer grilles. They're quite durable and look really nice.

I have a JL 300/2v2 powering my Stealthbox 10w3 and its quite enough power.

On the flip side, if you want the 500/1, you have a little room to grow. It would leave the option of being able to easily power another sub.

so for a sub, is a mono amp the best way to go or is a 2 channel wired correctly just as good? If either works well what size should i go? seems like mentioned above a 300 watt amp would be the proper size. There is a 250/1 for sale on this forum or should i look for something a little bigger.

For what its worth I have a JL 300/2v2 bridged powering my 10w3. It sounds great. A 250/1 would be fine also.
