I have two dual voice coil 10" sub that are 4 ohms each. An amp that can produce 2 x 500 watts, when it is at 4 ohm bridged @ 14.4. What is the writing connection need for me to set it up correctly? Or do I have the wrong kind of subs? Also was wondering about the stock alternator on a 1997 coupe, how many amps does it have, and what kind of wiring gauge would i need for this setup?
most likely on each sub wire the + from one coil to the - of the other coil. this puts each sub at 8ohms. then take the remaining + from each sub and bring them together at the amp, same goes for negative. like this
yes it's a four channel amp but each sub has 350 rms and I wanted to hook them up 2x500 @ 4 ohm brigded
you can't make a dual voice coil 4 ohm speaker "4 ohms" total. you can do 8ohm or 2ohm per speaker. Or if you hooked them together you could do 4 ohm or 1 ohm. Your amp is probably stable at 2 ohm stereo, and 4 ohm bridged. So you could run each sub at 2 ohm on each of the two rear channels, (or front which ever) Or you could bridge the subs together at 4ohm and run either the front or rear channel of the amp bridged to the subs.

Well I am hoping to wire them bridged at 4 ohm. Which wiring connect is need for the two dual voice coils at 4 ohms each, that will give me this setup?
