I had seen the first one, but couldn't find anyone who sold it. I've seen the second one, but thought it was for coupes and Z06s and wouldn't fit verts. Anyway, that's two good sources of exactly what I was looking for.
You're right, Subthump only fits the coupe. I missed that part of your original post, sorry. Only enclosures I know that fit the vert are the JL enclosures.
I'll beat the drum again - fit and sound good are different things. You stuff a subwoofer in a trunk (airspace separate from cabin) and you are going to wind up with a single noted boomer, not a woofer. Some folks just wanna get that boom at the bottom and it works for them but it's something you should know.

The partition just aft of the waterfall, that the rear speakers are mounted to can be removed, that way the two compartments wont be isolated. With the top up it wont be much different than a coupe. The top will block some of the sound when it's down, but at that point sound quality wont be what I'll be looking for.

Just put the Kenwood 8" shallow subs in the door to replace the crappy Bose 10" inverted/powered subs, add a 300 watt mono sub amp and a good head unit /speakers and be done with it. You don't need a box in the Vette...I did it and it sounds better than most boxed setups with bass that will blow you away. Add some Dynamat in the doors and you're done!

Interesting set up, but according to the specs at Crutchfield these subs aren't recommended for a free air mounting like in a door. Maybe some of the more experienced guys could comment on the pros and cons of using the sub in this enviroment. Also, could you be a little more specific on your set up? Like were did you put the drivers and tweets? An 8" will take up all of the space that the 10 used to occupy, that only leaves the 3 1/2" hole where most of us have an aftermarket coax speaker mounted.
