I'm trying to upgrade my Kenwood DNX5120 to 2.4.0. It's currently at 1.5.1. When I bought it last year, it was on 1.0.0. I upgraded it to 1.5.1 with no problems, but after that upgrade, it won't resume DVD play from where the DVD was when the car was shut off. For example, if a DVD was at the 20 minute mark, I'd shut the car off, start it back up later, and the DVD would start as if it were just put into the unit (from the beginning). Prior to the update, it would resume from that 20 minute mark.
I'm trying to update to 2.4.0 to see if it resolves this issue. However, I'm unsuccessful in updating the unit. I go to Kenwood's site, download the zip file, unzip it, and burn it to a CD-R. When I put that into the unit, it just says "reading" for about a minute, then "disc error". I've tried 6 discs, both on Vista and XP, with no dice. I've tried just the file, the file in a root folder, and changing the CD Type from 1 to 2 (that just resulted in it trying to play the update as an audio file = hiss), with no luck. I can't seem to get it to update. I'm using Memorex CD-R, and I'm writing them so they can be viewed on any computer in ISO format (as opposed to UDF for Windows machines).
Has anyone experienced a similar problem in updating? Any tips or advice?
