Replace 2006 stereo with 2008 stereo

Replace 2006 stereo with 2008 stereo
I have bought a 2008 factory stereo to replace my 2006 stereo so that I may use the auxiliary jack. Does anyone know how to remove the trim and replace the stereo? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Getting to the head unit isn't hard at all - the first time it took me 1 hour and after doing it 4-5 times I got it down to 10 minutes.
There are plenty of posts with thorough install pics and walkthroughs indexed in the C6 Audio FAQ, which is stickied at the top of this forum.

if you didnt know this already, you're likely going to have to take the car in to have the stereo unlocked once you swap it. you need somebody with a tech ii scanner to do it. im trying to get this done myself. if you happen to see the tech do it, i could use the info as far as what menus on the scanner he navigated to get to the unlock function. thx and good luck (the swap is super easy.)
