Default AC Problem - Driver side cold air, passenger side hot...

And before anyone asks, yes the pass side **** is turned to the cold (blue) side. Anyone know what could be causing this? Did the AC controller itself went kaputz?

I had a similar issue. IIRC, I was directed to remove the fuse for the AC for about 10 minutes to reset it.

Pull the fuse and let it sit, or pull it, start it and wait 10 min? I'm guessing the first right?

Pull it and let it sit with the car off.

Well it did work for a while, 10 min after driving I noticed it was getting hot and realized that it was blowing hot air again. Not very convenient on these hot summer days. Any more ideas? I think I noticed a AC??? relay or something. Could that cause anything?

check your freon level. usually low freon causes this problem.

Yup, check the freon. Then if that doesn't work you are going to have to look at the actuators. I am dealing with this same issue in my 98.

If one side is kinda cool and the other is kinda warm, then it might be a freon problem. If one side is really cold and the other is obviously outside air, then your damper motors may just need to be 'recalibrated'.

With the car running and the A/C on, try pulling/wait a few minutes/reinstalling fuses #18 & 27 in the passenger floorboard, the motors should reset when power is reapplied.

If that doesn't do it

Seems like it worked, I'll let you know if it works for good.

Ok I added both freon and pulled those fuses, and it seems to work for good now. Thanks for everyone that pitched in.

Edit: Fu#k!!! Now all vents just blow outside air, not hot or cold... Im going to kill this thing. Maybe I should just hook up the fuses to some relays so they disconnect the connection when the car is off and reconnect when its started?
