Harness needed?
Originally I used a harness when I put a new head unit into an f-body. Shortly after that though, I added a sub and set of component speakers as well as an amp for each.
Since i'm not using ANY of the stock stereo for this installation, do I need a harness? Or do I just need power/ground to the head unit, remote wires and RCAs to the amps, power/ground to the amps, and speaker wire out to the components?

I'm assuming C5 from where your other posts have been.
If you want to maintain RAP (radio on until you open a door), you'll need something like this.
If you're OK with it just going on/off with the ignition there is a 3-wire pigtail in the upper left corner of the area under the passenger footwell (by the fuse box). Black is ground, orange is constant (fused @ 20a), yellow is switched (also fused @ 20a).
You would be best off if you replaced the stock 'subs' with 6.5" components and put a sub in the back. Click here for a good way to get new speaker mounting plates if you don't want to make your own.
If your HU is single DIN you'll also need an adapter plate. I had one of these with the blue LED's.

You're correct about the C5, the car is an '03 coupe
As far as replacing the stock speakers, I intend to pull them all and just go with my current JL XR-650 components in the front and my eclipse 12" in the rear.
I still have to decide if I care about RAP but at least now I have all the info I'll need either way.
Thanks again!
