Default Finished My C4 Setup.

Well I just finished changing my factory Delco sound system on my 94 vette. I kept it relatively cheap but got great results. I took out all the speakers and replaced them with Pioneer TS-A 4-ways. I got the original mount from the front that houses a 4x6 and cut out a 6.5 inch hole so I can put the bigger speaker. Out back I stayed with the 6x9's. I replaced the radio with a Sony CDX-GT330 which has red lighting that matches my red interior perfectly and doesnt stand out at night with the orange lighting. The sound quality is great and has all the sound tweaking I need. For the bass I got a shallow mount box with a single 10" Kicker CVT Shallow mount subwoofer. I picked up a 300 watt Dual Amplifier and bridged it to the sub. It sound really good crystal clear and the bass fills out nicely and can hit hard if I want it too even with my billy boat exhaust in the background. I installed the amp kit myself to save money. Everything came out to around $400 and it was worth it. If anybody has any questions let me know and ill try to help. Oh and the sys light came on so I have to do the resistors thing

I was wondering about that myself, but I have enough trouble remembering the difference between C5 & C6. The last thing I need to do is throw C4's into the mix

When you change to aftermarket radios on the c4 the sys light will come on because the lcd and led dimming lines will go to an open circuit since it doesnt exist for aftermarket radios. Therefore you have to add resistors to the 12 volt ignition switched circuit.

Talk to me about that box man. Where did you get it and where did you run your juice for the amp from? The guy I just bought my 94 from had already done the BOSE replacement thing and it sounds good. I just want to slide a 10" in the back for a little bass when I want it.

Thanks

The box and sub I bought from a guy who had it in a single cab truck. If you go to any audio place tell them you want a shallow mount truck box which normally goes behind the front seats of a truck. If you get the box like mine you cant use just any subwoofer you have to use a shallow mount as well. The one I have is about $80 brand new. The box has to be 16 inches long for it fit in snug from side to side. Its better to go with this setup because you wont take up so much space and dont have to customize anything. And your bins will still open perfect. The amp wire I ran from the back underneath the carpet, down the side carpet next to the driver seat and underneath the sill cover next to the driver seat to the front past the speaker, then came up and across and tie strapped it with all the wires under the dash to the center radio. The corvette covers you can get a ecklers.com or corvettecentral.com they are like $50.
