OOOOOO, if you dont need the nav, than why pay the extra 1k, Iv ehavent looked too much at the units with no nav, but Id go with the biggest screen for looks, alpine has some nice units as well as the kenwoods
I have the Kenwood DNX-8120 and love it! The ipod interface is the fastest on the market and having touch screen controls is pretty cool. Also, being able to play music off a USB thumb drive is also cool.
But, if you don't need DVD OR NAV why spend the $$$? BTW, I never use the DVD player.
I was stationed at Pearl Harbor for a bit when I was in the Navy. Whenever we got lost we'd just look for the mountains, depending on which side of the island we were on, we immediately knew which way to go.
I have the AVIC-D3 with Nav. I hardly ever use it except on long trips, but the touch screen controls for everything else almost makes the few extra $$ worth it.
You can add nav later with a blackbird. The new alpine units let you watch ipod video. I have Alpine flip screens in my suburban and f250. The flip screens are stealth and simple to install compared to a dd in the zo6:
