Default Please Help with JL setup!

Hey guys, I am looking to get a JL Audio 500/1v2 amp and a JL Audio 10” w3v3 sub for my z06. I have two questions:

1.Will a 250/1v2 amp be enough to power the w3v3 or should I go with the 500/1v2?

2.Should I get a 2 ohm or 4 ohm w3v3 subwoofer?

Thanks for your help!
Matt

Well, the w3v3 is pretty inefficient at only 85.37db so I'd probably want the 500 watt amp to power it. If you don't like a lot of bass you could get away with the 250/1. Since the amps your looking at are both Class D amps the 2ohm or 4 ohm rating should not matter as the output is the same for either a 2 Ohm or 4 Ohm load. If the sub was a dual voice coil sub or you were adding two and wanted to drive them with only one amp then I'd suggest the 4 ohm models since the JL amp is not stable at 1 Ohm.

I'm sure others will chime in as well.

A 250/1v2 would be fine for a single 10w3v3. You should get the 4 ohm. The JL Audio slash series amplifiers have the best dampening at 4 ohm and create the same amount of power anywhere between 1.5-4 ohms. So there would really be no advantage of using a single 2 ohm sub.

I just put the same set-up in my C6. I have a 10W3V3 dual 4 ohm in the JL stealth box and a 500/1. Let me say it hits harder than I thought. For 1 ten it pounds.I had a 250/1 in it first but it just wasn't enough,it would level off. So I went to the 500/1. Good move. You'll love it.

I have 2 10W3V3's with a 500/1 pushing them in a sealed box. It sounds really good and louder them my 2 10w0's i had. I love my setup now, you should be happy, I would go with the 500/1 it is a great amp with lots of power so if you want to add another sub you can and not have to buy another amp.
the tuning on the 500/1 is really good to you can really dial it in.
