Need a Cheap Wireless Remote Trigger?
If you could have a small wireless remote system that was basically a continuity relay that you could quickly tap into the back of any wiring harness you wanted (like the Invisicord does today for your radar detector power), would you find ways to use it? Maybe on a NOS system, audio system, etc? This device would be just under $50 shipped in the US, maybe even under $40 if I can work out some kinks.
The modes would be:
1) Press the button and let go, and the receiver temporarily would connect the two points (provide continuity for one pulse) and then stop, almost instantly, whatever time it takes for the RF signal.
2) Press the button and let go, the receiver would connect the two points for 5 separate pulses. (somehow use to trigger a street race launch from the car, side mirror LEDs or something, not sure, "on the count of 5, go", hit the button and let the receiver trigger the 5 pulses, etc? just thinking outside the box on this one)
3) Press the button and let go, the receiver would connect the two points and hold it, press the button again, and the receiver would disconnect the two points.
4) Press the button and 2 seconds later, the receiver would temporarily connect the two points and stop.
Basically you would have the same technology as the Invisicord for your connection points (just insert the Invisicord pins into the back of any two wires in a harness that you want continuity), turn on the receiver, turn on the transmitter, and you are good to go.
The largest issue I have currently is that the transmitter cannot be used to turn on/off the receiver. After about one hour of no use, it will shut down, but you would have to turn it back on again. Basically you would have to turn on both your transmitter and receiver use, then turn them off when you were done. This is the worst part of what I plan to use for this.
Technical details:
2.4 ghz
Small form factors for the transmitter and receiver
Invisicord mini-cord would unplug/plug into the receiver, allowing you to keep the Invisicord mini-cord in place without having to leave the receiver.
Both units utilize 2 AAA batteries each
So for this to be useful, you would have to have easy access to the receiver when you needed to turn it on or off. Still there may be different uses for this, and I thought I would throw the idea out there.
Clear as mud? If you have any questions or would like to discuss this, please email me at sales AT invisicord.com, or PM me here.
