Trying to decide between Kenwood DNX7140 or 9140
Any big differences? Your thoughts? I googled it and did some research and didn't find any big difference, other than speed.
your input is appreciated. Thanks in advance

The 9140 is part of the Excelon line, so it comes standard with higher voltage line outputs (5 volt vs. 2 volt), a better display (1.152M pixels vs. 336,960 pixels), and advanced signal processing (5.1 channel DSP, digital time alignment, and a 13 band eq, vs. the System Q 3 band parametric equalizer).
There are probably other differences, but those are the big ones that I can think of.

Thank you!!! Do you know if the 9140 is able to display SMS/TEXT Messages, just like the 7140 does?

Although I have not yet received a SMS, the icon (sms) is on the handsfree screen of the 9140.

What does the 9140 sound like. Some say it needs an amp. Your thoughts on this? My car has the bose stereo no nav. Does that have an amp and if so, do you use that power along with the 9140. Sorry if I sound dumb.
