Subs in 91 vert
I have a 91 convertible and I was wondering first do i need an aftermarket headunit to put an amp and a sub? second where does someone put in a sub in a convertible? there is really no space at all. I was thinking making a flat box even tho it will cover up the 2 storage compartments.

You should be able to fit an 8" sub into each of the rear speaker compartments. A new head unit will give you better sound then the stock Bose, by a wide margin. You will/should use an amp for the front speakers as well (since it is a vert), a nice four way amp would be the Alpine PDX 4 X150 amp, small footprint, lots of power. Also it is a good idea to mount the tweeters of the front componant speakers on the "A" pilliars, as it "raises" the sound stage so that it is not being blocked by your leg. I have some speakers for the front with remote tweets. I was gonna install them in my old supra till but it died right after i bought them. Thats a pretty good idea since the back speakers really don't give much sound anyway especially with the top down. Thanks.
