I read the advice that several members gave LOUSVETTE on 10-19-09 and it started me thinking.
I also plan to add a powered sub; I was planning to disconnect the center speaker and use this output for a powered sub-woofer.
I have the non-Bose system.
Think it will work?
Nope, I know it will not. The front 3.5" speakers, all 3, are high-passed from the factory amp. That means the very frequencies you wish to amplify have been filtered out of the signal. The rear speakers are in the same boat. Best option all around is tapping line level signal at the back of the head.
It just isn't that bad to get to the back of the head unit folks. Bunches of you work REALLY hard to avoid doing that when overall it's easier than most of the things proposed.
It worked great. I positioned the box behind the driver seat on the flat trunk area. The coupe top still fit back there. It made the factory system sound great. I could use less of the head units bass and not drive the door woofers so hard. The Basslink supplied all the lows. I have sence taken it out only because my buddy sold me a new JL Stealthbox with the JL sub, 10" driver for $200.00. Actually I think the Infinity Basslink sounded better and was more balanced than the JL box.
Thanks for your info and your 03-19-08 post on the RCA adapter harness great. I'm going to follow your advice and hook up the sub the correct way. By the way, what was the blue/white wire for? I assume you discarded it, correct?
