I am adding a aftermarket radio to my 99 vette. I bought the metra kit to keep the bose operable. My question is when connecting the black ground wire from the kit to the black ground wire from the new radio harness do I need to run a wire from that connection to a chassis ground?
I assume it will pull the ground from where the kit plugs into the stock harness but I want to check with you guys before I solder and shrink wrap the connections.
Have a good one

If all you're changing is the radio, then there's no problem using the existing ground wire in the stock plug for everything.
If you add lots of electrical toys or an external amp, then you'd need to run a new ground wire.
So if I match up the metra kit wires with the after market radio wires, plug the two plugs from the kit into the stock plugs and the other plug into the aftermarket radio I should be good to go?
Thanks for the info

When I did my install I originally used the ground wire from the harness for my head unit ground and had some noise. Moving the HU ground to a chassis ground eliminated it all together. Just an FYI......
