ok now what
I had planned on using the crutchfield adapter to get the unit to work with the bose system.
Well when I went to order the adapter today I noticed that it doesn't work with pioneer radios!!! :mad :mad So now what?
Is there another workaround I can do (without tearing apart my interior) to get my radio to work with the rest of my car?
which adapter were you looking at getting?
on their order page they have the following quote:
Note: This adapter is incompatible with Pioneer or Panasonic receivers with built-in MOSFET45, MOSFET47, MOSFET50, or MOSFET60 power.
The only reason I can think would be the higher wattage output of those units with the MOSFET amps. But since the speakers have their own amps, I don't see why there would be much current flowing out of the head unit. Maybe in some Bose systems the head unit actually powers the speakers? Just a guess, but it's worth calling to see.
I think I also remember seeing a Bose interface one time that used the RCA outputs from the head unit rather than the line-level ones. Not sure if it would have worked with a Corvette, but you might call around to local stereo shops to see. But make sure you get a strong guarantee from them that it will work before you buy it because a lot of those places don't know jack about the Bose system in Corvettes, particularly 1990+.
