I installed my PAL interface with Ray Kawal's cable on my 2008 a month ago or so. It's been fine ever since, but today I switched to AM to listen to a football game. I hit the AM button twice in a row before it switched. Now ever since then the PAL interface doesn't seem to be working. Switching to XM2 causes it to act like it switched over, but I don't get any audio and the screen takes forever to refresh. Sometimes it just says that the ipod is "stopped".
I've tried flipping between XM1/2 and the other inputs, I've tried unplugging the PAL module from Ray's harness and leaving it unplugged for 20min, but it nothing has worked.

Any other ideas?
Have you emailed Ray? Seems like I remember in a thread that you need two seconds between touching screen buttons or problems can occur. Did you disconnect power also because disconnecting Ray's cable only removes the interface to the Ipod and I'm guessing you would need to reboot the PAL? I have the PAL and Ray's interface cable in my 06 and , knock on wood, no problems so far. Good luck. I'm sure Ray can help.
12. After operating the PAL, I lost the XM1/2 soft key on the Nav unit. What happened? The PAL software can be overloaded if you push buttons too fast to give the PAL commands. This can result in the PAL being locked up and you lose the XM1/2 buttons. Usually, restarting the car will reset the PAL. But if you cannot get the XM1/2 buttons back, unplug the 16 pin connector at the PAL module to disconnect the power to it. This will reset the PAL and get the XM1/2 buttons back.
That's not my problem though. I still have the XM1/2 buttons, I can switch to XM2, I hear the PAL click, but I never get sound and the display acts all funky.
Talked to Ray and he had the idea to try a different ipod. Apparently something happened to my old 3rd gen ipod when I switched inputs. Tried a newer nano I had laying around and it worked fine.
