OK, I'm doing my planning for my install in the Spring. It is unlikely my PDX amp will fit under the seat. I can't mount it to the wall behind the seats because the owners manual says mounting it vertically voids the warranty. I want a totally stealth look. That leaves the passenger side storage bin. Has anyone ever mounted their amp there? Will it overheat? Thoughts? Are there other small amps similar to PDX in quality and price that can be mounted vertically?
I've seen a number of threads showing PDX amps mounted behind the seat without any issues. If something did happen to go wrong, how would Alpine know where you had it mounted
Personally, I'm running an MRP-F600 which is bigger than the PDX, and it's annoying behind the driver's seat because of how much it limits the travel. I couldn't fit it in the bin. The passenger side is an option but I think I'm just going to make a nice mount for it in the back.
I also just looked at the PDX's manual - I think they're just referring to stacking two or more units for the warranty voiding piece.
