I am considering Focals for my '98 convertible. What series and size did you end up with?
If that question was meant for me, I don't recall any details. I've moved since my post to this thread, and the speaker box disappeared. I wish I could be of more help.
Patches, the "Eye of God" is great. Love when little details like that work out.
Curious about your sound treatment. Did you have any fitment troubles? Maybe certain areas you had to remove material for fitment or whatever??
I mentioned on another of your threads that I'm planning to cover the underside of the tunnel while my torque tube/clutch upgrades are going on. Already did the underside of the rear wheel wells. Also planning one my audio system upgrade as well.
The deadening I'm using is Second Skin Audio's products. http://store.secondskinaudio.com/how...ate-your-ride/
Damplifier Pro
Luxury Liner Pro
Overkill Pro
I'm hoping to cover all areas with the Damplifier Pro. Like yours, the doors will get a layer of Overkill Pro(closed cell vinyl foam) Also plan to cover the backside of all the interior plastics with it as well
My concerns are for the Luxury Liner Pro. It's very thick, very heavy stuff. Would sure be nice to be able to cover most of the interior with it. I imagine the tunnel can't be covered.
Any advice?
You can put the soundproofing down pretty thick just about everywhere, even the tunnel. Just take it easy along the edges and where something attaches with a push in or friction clip. Also be careful with the two 10mm nuts on the back end of the armrest, if you have thick soundproofing and tighten those nuts too much it will crack the plastic (ask me how I know that).
