If you have a stock 12 disc CD changer, you can disconnect it and install an adapter, run the wires and you're done. I bought mine at Best Buy for $100. It was made by periphiral (sp).... Good luck!! R/ Al
If you have a changer in the trunk and don't mind splicing into the cables you can do this mod. If you can install the relay, it's not hard to power the switch feeding the relay from the radio's existing 'amp turn on' circuit so it isn't always energized.
The wires in the trunk wouldn't be there, but 99% of C5's have the needed wires in the passenger floorboard area. You can buy gizmos that connect to the two connectors on the floor, or buy a COR-HAR which would have the same plug as a changer equipped car.
Dumb question My '98 C5 has no rear CD changer...are the wires back there for all C5s?
I just did mine in my 97. Some of the cars do have the connectors in the passenger area as stated above.
In mine it was simple, basically unplug the connector from the back of the stock head unit, plug in the new harness, the stock plug into the harness and the other end of the harness into the interface. run the wire from behind the radio to where ever you want your iPOD. I put mine in the console.
I bought the wiring harness and interface from Dennis at DD Mods. Took me 30 min to remove the console, bezel, and radio. Works great with my iPOD Touch.
do a search and you should be able to find what you need.
Good luck,
