I realize there has been much info posted about speakers. However, sometimes it's a little confusing because of the differences in Bose and non-Bose systems. So just to make sure before I start laying out my speaker replacement options, what size speakers are installed?

The center dash is a 3.5 that I will likely remove and not replace. In each door panel is a 3.5, however what size is the larger speaker below that? That large speaker does not appear to be amplified; just a large inexpensive speaker, correct? Last, are the rear speakers 5 1/4"?

Default Thanks

I think that was my biggest misconception; I thought only the Bose system had an amplified speaker. I do have a C6 2009 coupe and just want to replace the factory speakers, so the question now is what can you do to replace the large door speaker? From your experience, is it worth it?

Thanks for any advice.

The large speakers in the doors are the subs, don't remove them unless you're putting a new sub in the back. They're the only ones with their own internal amp, the others are just normal 4ohm speakers.

2-way 3.5" speakers for the doors would be a nice improvement. Many people have been happy with Polk db351 or Boston Acoustic S35.

Could I do this? Would it make a difference?
1) Change the factory door 3.5's and rear 5 1/4's with aftermarket speakers.
2) Leave the door subs.
3) Using a PAC-ADD GM24 splice and direct battery cable to an amp, run 2 small 8" subs on a rear custom deck.
