Troubleshooting???
Then i moved across the state, when i shut the car off it keeps playing...even after I remove the keys from the ignition AND open the door. If i turn it off the display remains lit.
Any of you technical guys have any thoughts on what i should check for?
I currently have to unhook the battery
It's getting old

It's possible you just lost the connection to the data wire, but more likely the unit just failed in ON.
You can either buy a new interface, or just use the switched wire from the pigtail in the passenger floorboard to trigger the radio. You'd loose the RAP feature, but it's a free fix if you can DIY.
It's been too cold to try to resolve this for now, but when i go to tackle this lil project i would like to be armed with as much info as possible (it's in storage)
If it didn't shut off from the beginning, i could understand...but when something works properly for a short time then out of the blue doesn't work properly....it bugs me....just a lil pet peeve i have.
Any other suggestions?
-a wire that isn't/is connected somewhere it should/shouldn't be
-the interface adapter crapped out (most likely)
-the radio itself has issues
I pulled it out and found a pink wire with a male terminal plug on the the end without a home....haven't been able to locate the female as of yet, but if someone knows what color i should be looking for, it might make this task easier for me.
I'm "gently" pulling the wires from behind and underneath that metal bracket but i'm afraid to undo another wire.
So far i don't think i care for this unit too much. I might be selling it.
It's the AVN5500.
Has anyone ever had (or has had) this unit installed?
I have some questions about the functions.
