I've never had Bluetooth but I want it now. The wife always calls when I'm shifting and I won't talk to her then she thinks I'm just acting like an a**hole.
Mark - "To put in an aftermarket radio WITH THE STOCK SPEAKERS you'd need an ROEM-Vet1 OR GMCRV2 as the interface adapter."
Ok, let me ask. If you just get a new head unit and use one of these interface's. Does this interface go between the GM plug that went in the back of the Bose unit and the new unit? If that is so then there is no other wiring that is required, other than the antenna?
Yes, the interface adapter plugs in between the radio and current radio harness. It will take care of the power and sound wires. No other wiring needs to be purchased, but whatever other options your new radio has need to be connected properly (rear camera, speed sensor, bluetooth mic, dimmer, ipod, usb, xm/Sirius, flux capacitor, M2W controller, tricorder, whatever...). I'm sure there are instructions for whatever else you need to connect in the FAQ thread.
Thanks Mark, after this very informative thread I think I will do this mod in 2 phase's. With the first being just the head unit with bluetooth. Of the 2 interfaces you listed is one any better than the other?
I looked at the adapters that were listed. I have used the cheap ones many times in the past on other Chevy's. Does the one from MAP work like the cheap ones. I really like the MAP, it looks cool.

In my C5 I didn't have a plan, I just started 'upgrading' as the mood struck me. It took a while, but I was eventually happy. It's very good to have a plan from the start.
In the C6 I started out by just replacing the radio and upgrading the door twiddlers. I was very happy with it like that, but deep down I always knew an amp and sub were in my future. I did some research and one day just pulled the trigger. I have no regrets. Having said that, after watching videos of the new Pioneer 920's iPod interface, I find myself wanting again
See if you can get Pentavolvo's opinion on which C5 interface adapter is the best to use

The fancy plates from maptech are considerably beefier than the cheap ones
I believe CF member 'Vrum Vrum' was the one who originally created those plates, search the audio section for his name and you can finds lots of threads about them. Here's another pic of mine.
