If you use a Metra XSVI-2004 instead of the GMCRV2 you won't need the GMRAP. Do your own search, but Crutchfield may actually be the best price of the places that have it in stock
Other than that, if you're keeping the stock speaker setup, your list looks complete.
Looks good, I actually had that unit installed recently before returning it for another. Can't speak for the GMRAP, but I have the Metra and it was a very simple install with no issues
So far it looks great! I just got it installed last night after running all the cables for a 2-channel amp, so by 1am I didn't feel like putting the dash back together lol. But from the brief radio test I did, it sounded nice!
Removing stock bracket behind factory C5 radio for aftermarket install
I am getting ready to install my aftermarket radio in my C5, and see that we have a metal bracket behind the radio that is in the way. I know I have to remove part of that.
Do I just need to remove the circular part that comes up from the bottom, and what sort of tool can I use to cut that off?I don't think I can fit a dremel in there to cut that part of the stock bracket off.
Looking forward to any suggestions for revmoving that rear support bracket piece.
