Is anyone here running Audison amps? I'm contemplating purchasing one but there's no where around here to even check them out,so once again I have to count on my forum friends to help me out. If anyone is running one, what's your opinion of it? Any help would be much appreciated.
Audison makes some of the most well-regarded amps around, but they are indeed pricey. That LRX5.1k amp is around $1700 retail. I've seen a few for sale online in the $700-1000 range. What are your system plans?
Are you running the HAT speakers active or passive? Sounds like a sweet setup, though I'm sure you already know that Hertz sub won't fit in a stealthbox and will take up a lot of room. If you scrap the rear speakers and run passive, a nice powerful 4-channel would work great too and could save you a lot of $$. I'll be running a set of Boston Acoustics SPZ-60's passive with an IDQv3 off a Zuki Audio Eleets 4-channel. You really shouldn't need any rear fill in a car like the Vette.
Running active. The sub is a beast a will take up a lot of room. Not going to scrap the rear speakers. I've read the arguements but I have pretty good knowledge on this subject and for me,rears are not an option but a necessity. As for saving a ton of money. It's quite hard to find an all in one amp like the Audison to do the things I am wanting.
I have the Audison Lrx 4.1k and Lrx 3.1k and previously used an Lrx 1.1k. No problems, no noise.
They are only 7-13/16" wide, which worked well for me. Weight was
also a concern. At around 11 to 12 lbs ea that was ok.
Audison tech support ( Larry Fredricks ) is very helpful with questions.
Warranty issues are dealt with promptly. Not that I had any with the amps, but did have a problem with the Bitone S, and it was promptly replaced with a Bitone.1.
You should be able to get a couple hundred off MSRP.
I've been using these amps for two years, and have no regrets.
Good Luck.

What are you using for the other amp? You have 7 channels total, so you need at least another 2-channel amp. If you are going to spend the $$, a combo of a JL HD600/4 (running the active speakers) and JL HD900/5 (front channels bridged to Imagine line) would work well and not suck up as much current as the Audison amp(s).

I had a Zuki Eleets 4 channel in my C4, and believe me, it sounded great. Check out there web site, and don't pay any attention to the power ratings. http://www.zukiaudio.net/

Rears are going to be run by the headunit as suggested by a local installer and Scott Buwalda of Hybrid Audio. So no,I don't need another amp.

Fair enough, if they can work off that power. Haven't read much about them. You might want to check out the 5-channel Zuki Eleets amp....will be much less expensive than the Audison and should put out the same or more "real world" power. He also has a few 6-channel amps that might work on sale for under $400. Can't go wrong with the Audison if you are going to spend the $$$
I have an Audison SRX3 running the entire system in my Corvette Convertible....75 watts to the each door, Hertz Hi-energy 6.5" 2 piece components and 270 watts for a pair of 8" JL 8W3v3 woofers. Whole system is running at 4 ohms and I am very happy with it. Honestly any more power would just deafen me, at 60% volume it's about as loud as I can tolerate it for anything more than a couple minutes.
The LRX series are nice but the SRX line is solid as well and much cheaper....very low essentially undetectable THD to the human ear.
If you are looking at going that route, I would look at the Genesis line of amps as well. I have their Profile P5 (their "low" end line) and it puts out very respectable power, but only around 270w on the sub. Enough to have plenty of bass with an IDQ12 in a stealth style enclosure however.
Like a lot of things in audio, there is a point of diminishing returns, and you would be very hard pressed to hear a difference between 75w from Audison, and 75w from Arc/Genesis, Zuki etc, especially in a car.
Very nice amplifiers. One of a handful of high end equipment manufactures left making high end products. My brother-in-laws shop is picking up Audison and Hertz. I'm going to take a close look at them as I pulled my JL w7 and slash amps last fall.
I would definitely look into them I wouldn't trade my Audison for another amp. Couldn't be more happy with the system (except I don't have a sub in yet).
