Default Door amps

I'd like to upgrade my stereo, and would love to maintain the stock layout. Does anyone know if a single channel amp exists that will fit in the stock amp's location on the door?

C5Z. Is the concern weather related? e.g. the amp being subjected to moisture?

I'm not planning on anything too extravagant. Swap head unit, and replace stock speakers. I'm probably not going to install a sub. My reason for thinking the doors is I'd rather not have orphan wiring.. just picky I guess. I was hoping to use as much as the existing wiring as possible.

Hearing that an amp fits under the passenger seat is good to know though. I was considering that as an alternative to door amps. I spent a bit of time looking around for such an amp (small, moderately powerful, single channel), but never found one.

The Alpine PDX-5 looks like it fits the bill perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion.
